The Malaysian government has announced plans to resume the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, which disappeared in March 2014 with 239 people on board. The decision comes ten years after the Boeing 777 vanished during its flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. The new search effort will be conducted in collaboration with Ocean Infinity, a U.S.-based marine exploration firm.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke confirmed that the Malaysian government has reached a $70 million "no find, no fee" agreement with Ocean Infinity, meaning the company will only be paid if they locate the wreckage. The search will cover a 15,000 square kilometer area in the southern Indian Ocean, identified through recent analysis and expert recommendations.

Ocean Infinity previously searched for MH370 in 2018 under similar terms. Despite not finding the wreckage then, the company's CEO, Oliver Plunkett, has stated that their commitment to solving the mystery remains strong, with advancements in technology and robotics bolstering their efforts this time.

The renewed search aims to bring closure to the families of those on board, who have endured years of uncertainty and grief. This initiative reflects Malaysia's ongoing responsibility to uncover the truth behind one of aviation's greatest mysteries.
